The new KTM-Bajaj Auto offering for the Indian market KTM 390 DUKE with ABS.The new Duke is similar to its predecessor Duke 200 but with an improved 373 cc single cylinder engine ,a 6 speed gearbox and with ABS system.It is one of the few bikes having the ability to switch off ABS.

UGC-NET: Notification, Eligibility, Fees and How to Apply


                UGC- NET or National Eligibility Test is conducted for Indian nationals as eligibility test for the post of Assistant Professors in Indian universities and affiliated colleges.NET is also the eligibility criteria for the award of Junior Research Fellowship and can pursue their research in the subject of their post graduation or in a related subject and is also eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

                 Now CBSE is conducting NET examination on behalf of UGC.NET is conducted in 79 subjects at 87 selected NET Coordinating Institutions spread across the country.NET is conducted twice each year and comes in May-June and November-December each year.

Eligibility for Applying NET:

               Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examinations from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer / Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) / Persons with disability (PWD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test. 

                      Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test.

How to Qualifying in NET:

The test contains 3 papers; all the three papers will consist of only objective type questions.

Paper–I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
Paper–III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate.
Each questions carry 2 marks and there will be no negative marks for wrong answers.

Paper I
60 out of which 50  question to be attempted.
1 ¼ hours
Paper II
50 questions all are  compulsory 
1 ¼ hours
Paper III
75 questions all are  compulsory 
2 ½ hours

Minimum marks for NET qualification:

Step I:

Minimum marks to be obtained in NET for considering a candidate for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor:

The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

Paper I

Paper III

Step II:

Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-
wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates.

 Step III:

Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only.

Step IV:
A separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst
the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III.

FEE for NET:

General candidates:     Rs.450/-

                 OBC candidates:        Rs.225/- (Non-creamy layer to be enclosed)

        SC/ST/PWD candidates:   Rs. 110/-

(Additional bank Charges may apply)
 The candidates may pay the examination fee either by credit/debit card or through e- challan generated during the online filling of the application form.

How to Apply:

  1. Candidates should apply for NET through Online on cbse website:  Only Applications through online will be accepted.
  2.  Applicants should possess a scanned photograph of size between 4 kb to 40 kb in jpg format with dimensions 3.5 cm width and 4.5 cm height during application.
  3.     After application payment of fee should be made either through e-challan or using debit or credit card.Only after payment of fee the hallticket will be generated.
  4.     Print out of the application should be duly filled and with self attested photographs along with certificates (non-creamy layer for OBC and other relaxation proof certificates) if any should be send to the registrar or principal of the coordinating Institute or University.

Important Dates for UGC-NET DECEMBER 2014:

 Last date for Applying Online & generation of filled Bank Challan for Fee.  

Last date of submission of Fee through online generated Bank Challan, at any branch of                                        (SYNDICATE/CANARA/ICICI BANK). 
Last date of taking printout of Application Form, Attendance Slip and Admit Card from                                         website (
Last date for receiving the printout of online Application  Form (one copy) and Attendance Slip (one copy) at the                                            respective Coordinating Institution opted by the candidate(with fee receipt & category certificate(s)).

LG announced a new addition to their premium flagship models the G series,the G2 mini.
G2 mini comes with the latest Android version Android 4.4 Kitkat and features a 4.7 inch  qHD IPS display  with 960x540 resolution.

The G2 mini is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm quadcore processor with 1 GB of RAM.
The LG G2 mini has a 8.0MP front camera and a 1.3 MP secondary front camera .The G2 mini has 8 GB of internal storage and supports SD card for storage extension upto 32 GB .It also has a powerful 2,440 mAh battery .

Aakash Tablet 4  in India within 45 days:Kapil Sibel

The Telecom minister Kapil Sibel said that the much awaited low cost educational purpose tablets "Aakash " will be available in India within a month and a half.The modern version of the tablet Aakash 4 is planning to be launched in India and according to the minister, the Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals has already floated the tender.
The Android based tablet features a 7 inch scratch resistant touch capacitive screen with 2G,3G and 4G connectivity.It also suppots Wi-fi.It will be having a 4 GB internal storage and external storage support via SD card upto 32 GB.Also features a VGA front camera and has a dual core processor with 512MB of RAM.

The Aakash 4 tablets are said to be priced at Rs.3,999.
