Finally they made it.A team of researchers from Sweden developed a new technique by which you can charge your mobile phones by using water.There’s no need to search for an electricity source for charging your mobile find some water source .
The charger is developed in KTH Royal Institute of Technology and made by MyFC .PowerTrekk is the world’s first water-activated charger.It can generate power from both fresh and salt water and can extend your battery life upto 3 watts.To charge your phone you only have to add a spoon of water into the charger and just plug it to your mobile with a USB .It will start charging your device instantly.
The working principle behind PowerTrekk is a small disposable metal disc when interacts with water releases hydrogen gas.This hydrogen when combines with oxygen it converts chemical energy into electrical energy and makes the batteries charged.
As water and air are provided as ingredients for the cells, this produces a very green power as water vapor is the only by-product.
Currently Powertrekk works with Cellphones,digital cameras,iPods and GPS but the company is planning to develop their charger to use with much larger devices like Laptops.
